Tour Description

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. After a scenic drive of 1.5 to 2.5 hours (depending on your location), you’ll arrive at Kilimanjaro National Park to begin your hike.

There are two route options, each offering a unique way to experience the mountain:

1. Lemosho Route Day Hike

• Starting Point: Londorossi Gate (2,100m)
• Hike Highlights: Ascend through dense tropical rainforest rich in wildlife — including black-and-white colobus monkeys and vibrant birdlife — up to the expansive Shira Plateau (3,600m), a UNESCO World Heritage volcanic caldera.
• Views & Scenery: Spectacular panoramas of Kibo Peak, Shira Pinnacles, and the surrounding savannah.
• Trail Conditions: Scenic, quiet, and less trafficked — ideal for adventure enthusiasts seeking a more remote and immersive hiking experience.

2. Marangu Route Day Hike

• Starting Point: Marangu Gate (1,860m)
• Hike Highlights: Gentle ascent through lush rainforest to Mandara Hut (2,700m), with opportunities to spot blue monkeys and admire the scenic Maundi Crater.
• Views & Scenery: Verdant surroundings and occasional glimpses of Kilimanjaro’s summit through the forest canopy.
