This 5-day luxury safari is designed to showcase the most celebrated wildlife destinations in Tanzania’s Northern Circuit while maintaining a refined balance of comfort, privacy, and immersive nature experiences. The journey takes you from the tranquil foothills of Mount Meru to the baobab-studded landscapes of Tarangire, the predator-rich plains of the Serengeti, and the extraordinary natural amphitheater of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Travel is conducted in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser with a professional driver-guide whose expertise ensures meaningful wildlife encounters and flexible pacing. Each evening, you retreat to carefully selected luxury lodges and tented camps, chosen for their exceptional service, strategic locations, and harmony with the surrounding environment. This itinerary is ideal for travellers seeking a classic yet elevated African safari experience.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you are warmly welcomed by your safari representative and transferred to your luxury hotel in Arusha. Set beneath the majestic slopes of Mount Meru, Arusha is Tanzania’s safari capital and a peaceful introduction to the country’s northern highlands.

The remainder of the day is at leisure. You may relax in the hotel gardens, enjoy views of Mount Meru, or recover from your journey while your guide briefs you on the upcoming safari. This relaxed beginning ensures you are well-rested and ready for the adventure ahead.

Main Destination: Arusha City
 Accommodation: Grand Meliá Arusha

 Meal Plan:
Breakfast, lunch & dinner on own arrangement

After an early breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, a journey through scenic Maasai landscapes and open countryside. Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s most underrated yet wildlife-rich parks, particularly famous for its large elephant populations and striking baobab trees.

The Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline, attracts animals throughout the year, especially during the dry season. During your game drive, you may encounter herds of elephants, giraffes browsing among the trees, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and predators such as lions and leopards. Birdlife is abundant, with over 550 recorded species, making the park a haven for bird enthusiasts.

After a full day of game viewing and a picnic lunch inside the park, you drive toward the Ngorongoro Highlands, where cooler air and lush scenery provide a welcome contrast. You arrive at your lodge in time to unwind and enjoy dinner in a serene setting.

Following breakfast, the journey continues through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where wildlife, Maasai pastoralists, and conservation coexist. The drive offers sweeping views of volcanic landscapes, open grasslands, and traditional Maasai villages.

As you enter Serengeti National Park, the scenery transforms into vast, seemingly endless plains. The Central Serengeti is renowned for its year-round wildlife, particularly large prides of lions, frequent leopard sightings along river systems, and an abundance of plains game that attracts predators.

An afternoon game drive introduces you to this iconic ecosystem, where wildlife interactions unfold naturally across the open savannah. As the sun sets, you arrive at your luxury tented camp, where the sounds of the wild accompany your evening under the African sky.

Main Destination: Central Serengeti National Park
 Accommodation: Moyo Tented Camp

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner; all drinks except spirits

Today is devoted entirely to immersive game viewing within the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of the most wildlife-rich ecosystems on Earth. From the moment you depart camp at sunrise, the vast open plains stretch endlessly in every direction, offering exceptional visibility and constant wildlife activity.

The Central Serengeti is particularly renowned for its high concentration of predators, supported by large resident populations of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and buffaloes. Depending on the season, you may witness sections of the Great Migration, where massive herds move across the plains in search of grazing, followed closely by predators. Lions are commonly seen resting atop rocky kopjes or stalking prey in the grasslands, while cheetahs patrol open areas and leopards linger near riverine woodlands.

Your experienced guide carefully plans the day based on animal movements, weather conditions, and recent sightings, maximizing the quality of encounters rather than rushing from place to place. You enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild, before continuing your afternoon game drive.

As the day draws to a close, the changing light casts a golden glow across the savannah, offering outstanding photographic opportunities. You return to camp in the late afternoon, where time is set aside to relax, refresh, and reflect on a day filled with unforgettable wildlife moments.

 Accommodation: Moyo Tented Camp

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After an early breakfast, depart the Serengeti and travel back toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive.

Often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, formed over two million years ago. Measuring approximately 20 kilometres in diameter, its steep walls create a natural enclosure that sustains one of the highest densities of wildlife anywhere in Africa.

The crater floor is home to over 25,000 large mammals, offering remarkable game viewing in a compact area. Highlights include large prides of lions, massive bull elephants with impressive tusks, herds of buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, as well as hippos and flamingos around the soda lakes. The crater is also one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhinoceros, making each visit especially meaningful.

After enjoying a picnic lunch inside the crater, you ascend the rim and begin your scenic drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. This marks the conclusion of your safari, leaving you with lasting memories of Tanzania’s most iconic landscapes and wildlife encounters.
