The 4-Day Safari is an unforgettable safari designed to showcase one of nature’s greatest spectacles the Great Migration along with Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Your journey begins in Arusha and takes you deep into the wildlife-rich plains of Serengeti National Park, particularly the Northern Serengeti where the famous Mara River crossings occur (seasonal). The safari concludes with a breathtaking descent into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wildlife havens. This itinerary perfectly blends dramatic landscapes, abundant wildlife, and authentic safari experiences.

Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning from Arusha and journey toward the Northern Serengeti, either by scenic drive or optional flight. Upon entering the park, your game drive begins immediately. The Northern Serengeti is especially famous between July – Early October when thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather along the Mara River, often making dramatic river crossings while predators wait nearby.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness. In the afternoon, continue with an extensive game drive tracking migration herds, elephants, giraffes, and big cats such as lions and leopards. Later in the evening, transfer to your tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day Northern Serengeti

Full day of exploration in the Northern Serengeti, Early morning game drives offer excellent opportunities to witness predators at their most active, particularly lions and cheetahs hunting in the cool hours before the sun rises high. After breakfast, you continue searching for wildlife along the Mara River and open plains.

Enjoying a picnic lunch at a scenic spot. For those seeking an extraordinary experience, an optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged early in the morning. Floating above the Serengeti at sunrise provides breathtaking aerial views of the vast plains and migrating herds, followed by a champagne bush breakfast upon landing. The afternoon is spent on further game viewing before returning to camp for dinner and relaxation under the African sky.

Day 3: North to Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you depart Northern Serengeti and enjoy a game drive to the Central Serengeti (Seronera area). This region is known for its year-round wildlife and high concentration of big cats. The landscape changes to classic acacia-dotted savannah and rocky kopjes where lions are often seen resting. Leopards may be spotted draped over tree branches, while elephants and large herds of antelope roam the plains.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch along the way and continue with wildlife viewing throughout the afternoon before arriving at your camp in Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

On Day 4, you rise early and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a spectacular descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater floor is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. Because the crater is enclosed by high walls, wildlife viewing is exceptional and often very close. After a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, you ascend the crater rim in the afternoon and begin your return journey to Arusha, marking the end of your incredible Great Migration safari adventure.
