The big five animals refers to five important species that are the main reasons why people all over the
world travel to Tanzania in order to get the chance to see the big five also they are seen as most hunted
animals due to the unique and specialness.
The Big Five Animals Are;
. Eephants
. Lions
. Leopards
. Rhino
. Buffalos
ELEPHANTS;
Elephant is the largest animal on Earth and one of the most hunted animal in the kingdom also known
for their magnificent size, large ears, long trunks, intelligence and social complexity and they are mostly
found at Tarangire national park they also lack protection due to poaching for ivory and habitats loss.
Africa elephants have the size of 5,000 and 14,000 pounds for the bull and female are smaller around
3,000 to 8,000 pounds and what differentiates them from other is their trunk which is the multiskilled
organ that functions as a hand, nose and arm they use it during eating, social interaction,
communication and even bathing .

LIONS;
The lion is the most important and majestic animal on Earth that lives in a social group called as pride
they are often referred to as the “king of the jungle “ due to it royal appearance ad strength. The lions
are the second largest cats in the world where by male lions can weight between 3300 to 550 poundr
while female are smaller weighting 240 to 400 pounder.

LEOPARDS;
These are also included in the big five animals due to the challenge in hunting them on foot leopards are
also companionless and secret hunters which are often referred to as the ghosts of the bush and are
mostly found in Serengeti and Ngorongoro national park. They like siting on trees of which they hunt in
the morning and evening and store there kill high up the tree branches to prevent both lions and
hayena’s from taking his food.

RHINOS;
Are among the largest animals on earth and the most hunted by poachers for their horns which are
bought and sold on the black market for high price Tanzanian is the home for both black and white
rhino. Rhino can be found in Ngorngoro and Serengeti national park during the dry seasons especially in
Ngorongoro crater.

BUFFALO;
The buffalo nis the member of big five which be found in all Tanzania national park they are known for
their antagonistic behavior in which they also live in large groups and eat gras
